Childbirth: towards a paradigm shift
Michel Odent has been in charge of the surgical unit and the maternity unit at the Pithiviers state hospital (1962-1985) and is the founder of the Primal Health Research Centre (London). He introduced in the 1970s the concepts of home-like birthing rooms and birthing pools in maternity hospitals.

Driving:
At junction 18 off the M25, exit onto Rickmansworth Rd/A404 toward Chorleywood/Amersham. Turn right onto Solesbridge Lane after 0.5 miles. After 1.3 miles, turn left onto Sarratt Road. Continue on for 0.8 miles and go slight left onto Dimmocks Lane. After 0.2 miles, keep left at the fork. Turn left to stay on The Green. Destination will be on the right.

Take Metropolitan Line from London to Chorleywood station. It’s about 3 miles to the venue from the train station. There is a taxi rank just outside and we have arranged for people carriers to pick up participants. Expect to pay around £6 return.
