Doula of the Year 2009
Pregnancy and Birth Magazine have selected our very own Kicki Hansard as THEIR doula of the Year... as voted by the editorial team.
A huge congratulations to our wonderful doula and inspiring Nurturing Birth trainer... a very well deserved accolade after an amazing day which raised lots of money for the Doula UK Hardship Fund!

Yes definitely a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Kicki!!!!!!!!! And it was a wonderful day; so well organised, great food, and fantastic to put so many faces in person to names!!! Even my husband enjoyed himself

Yes what a day!!!!! Absolutely fabulous to see so many doulas and possibly too many which left me and I am sure loads of others to not say hello to everyone!!!!
It was really nicely organised and it looks like lots of money was raised with the raffle and the auction. The celebs were good fun too. I think Nadine has taken zillions of pics so I am sure we'll get to see some.

Thank you EVERYONE for your kind words! I was so touched and surprised to receive this award. I feel so lucky to be part of such a wonderful network with so many supporting women for me and for all pregnant women out there!
The best thing about this job is everything that I learn from all of you and from all the women I support!

Wasn't it great that it was Kicki? It was very special for me to be Chair this year, have the (somewhat dubious??!) pleasure of organising the event, AND to have been trained by Kicki through NB.
Having read all your posts here, and the ones on the DUK forum, I feel just awful that there were so many of you there who I've spoken to either on the phone or online and although it felt that I was kissing & hugging all day - there are LOADS of you I didn't even get to say hello to. So for that I'm sorry, - but I do hope everyone enjoyed the day, ....I think I did, but I'm still a bit shell-shocked!
Great support from NB - as always. (And some good pics of Valerie seducing James from "The Apprentice").....
